Hey guys! I am sorry that I failed so miserably at keeping my initial promise to keep this blog updated as I went through chemo. I kept meaning to, but I was a touch tired and couldn't quite get myself motivated to put pen to paper. So here is my detailed synopsis of my chemo adventures: It. Was. ROUGH. Seriously don't recommend it. Haha! I won't bore you with the depressing and, honestly, pretty freaking gross details. I am so very thankful that I have my amazing friends and family. I don't know what I would have done without them. I'm still getting used to doing my own laundry again now that chemo is done. Haha! So, in summary, I made it through! I finished my 18th and final round of chemo the day after my 30th birthday, and by some wonderful, gracious miracle, I managed to only miss a handful of days of work in the process. (Again, shout out to my amazing friends and family who were a huge help in making that happen and to my gracious employer who has been incredibly understanding and supportive.)
It has been a little over two months now since my last round of chemo and I. Feel. Fantastic. I want to climb all the mountains and swim in all the rivers and oceans. I got to take a trip to Miami earlier this month with some of the best girls on the planet, I am walking up to three miles at a time and getting back into full-time exercise as soon as I can figure out how to squeeze that gym membership in between my doctor bills. My hair is coming back like crazy too! It's about the softest thing you've ever felt. Seriously, if you see me out, come up and feel my head. I don't care if we've met or not. You have to feel this stuff. It feels like a baby chicken! Granted, it's basically all grey now, but I like it and I have HAIR!!
Okay, I think that pretty much catches you up to present day. My next blog will give an update on the state of my cancer and plans from here. I pinky promise to have it for you soon.
